BOLNET.ca is the home for the Canadian Barcode of Life Network and is an important informational resource. The work Glossopteris completed on this site was to constuct all the XHTML templates, the backend PHP programming and the coding of AJAX widgets to improve the users experience on the site.
One of the AJAX widgets developed for this site, was as a contact information popup that draws information from the BOLINFONET XML feeds and opens a small popup showing the relevent data. This is unobtrusively added through a javascript behaviour which degrades gracefully to a link that sends the user to another page that has the contact information if javascript is turned off.
A Campaign progress explorer, initially developed for All Leps, is used on BOLNET.ca, which also takes XML feeds from BOLINFONET for content such as publications, latest news and upcoming meetings.
This site is fully XHTML compliant with external CSS and gracefully degrading javascript behaviours.
